British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has tested positive for coronavirus.

Boris announced the news on his twitter page on Friday.

Addressing his 1.9 million followers on twitter Boris in a video said that he would continue to fight together with the country to fight the pandemic.

Boris said that he had been having some mild symptoms due to the virus in the last 24 hours.

That is when he decided to get tested and the result came out positive.

He is currently isolating in Downing street. Boris is the first world leader to announce that they have the virus.

Carrie Symonds, the prime minister’s partner is currently self-isolating as well after Boris tested positive.

Matt Hancock who is the health secretary in England also tested positive to the virus.

Professor Chris Whitty the chief medical officer has shown some symptoms of the virus.

As the twitter message was circulating many were wondering if the prime minister will continue with his duties. With a population of 66 million Boris 55 will still continue to work and lead the country. Despite being in isolation he will conduct his duties.

There is a great worry as the health secretary has tested positive and the chief medical officer is isolating as he has symptoms of this virus.

Anything that the minister wants will be delivered by his door and he will collect it there.

Meetings will be held via video conference. Although he cannot meet people in person, Boris will conduct all his meetings virtually until further notice.

In his video he even mentioned that he will be working from home as it is the right thing to do.

In the past few days more than 200 people has died due to this virus. This brings the total of deaths to 1,019. There are also 17,089 confirmed cases in the country. The country has in the past days resorted to stronger measures in order to stop the spread of coronavirus. UK is one of the countries that enforced Lockdown.

Gatherings of more than 2 people have been banned. Going outside should be for the stated reasons and for a certain period of time. Schools, organizations and other non-essential services have been closed. People are being encouraged to stay at home. Even entertainment places and casinos are closed. Playing online casino games is the only way to go to be entertained during this period.

The numbers of deaths and affected people keeps growing by each day, with other countries resorting their first cases and first deaths. Globally the number of the affected people has become 657,523. The number of deaths has also become 30,428. Good news is that there are also people recovering after being affected by this virus.

The number of the recovered patients is currently at 141,419.
