Since the global coronavirus outbreak that has claimed more than 5. 000 lives across the world. Walt Disney Company has announced that it is temporarily closing its Disney theme parks all over the world.

Disney has a total of 6 theme parks in the world and they are all closing down.  The resorts Disney World in Florida, Paris, and California are the ones closing recently as the theme parks in China as well as in japan has been closed since the virus started spreading. These parks will be closed during the weekend only to open up at the end of March.

In their statements, Walt Disney said that this is the best decision for the guest and employees at these parks.  All the cast members will be getting paid during this period and all the hotel bookings done during this period will be refunded.

There are going to be some economic effects due to this move but they are yet to see it. The closing of the China parks has resulted in the loss of over $170 million profit.

    It has decided to withdraw its 2020 revenue forecast. This happened following coronavirus-related supply disruptions.

  4. Amazon:

    amazon informed employees who are based in Seattle and nearby places that workers should work from home until the end of March.

  5. Google:

    All google employees in Washington State who have the ability to work remotely are asked to do. This is so as to reduce the spread of coronavirus.

All those who had plans to visit Disney theme parks should put them on hold, as the company has announced that they are closing their parks due to coronavirus. However, this move may lead to some losses but it is necessary. Walt Disney is not the only company to close down, many organization has closed down and some schools have also been closed as a bid to prevent a lot of people gathering in the same place. People are advised to wash their hands thoroughly, hold their mouths with a cloth when they sneeze and to avoid contact woth people who have flue or cold symptoms.
