There are more than I million posts from all social media platforms talking about the sad news that fans received last night. Hollywood and the world at large were shocked after Idris Elba a famous and renowned actor confirmed that he had tested positive for coronavirus. This virus has claimed 7,175 lives and there is a total of 183,116 cases of infected people all over the world.
Idris Elba yesterday made a video on his twitter page informing the world that he had tested positive for Coronavirus (Covid-19). He broke the news to the world when he received his results on Monday to which he was tested on Friday the previous week.
In his post, the Luther actor made it clear that he was fine and have not shown any symptoms of the virus yet. He has decided to quarantine himself in his home since Friday when he realized that he had been in contact with a person who had the virus.
Elba also promised his fans that he will be giving them updates on how he is doing. He also went on to encourage the world to stay home, be safe and be pragmatic. After realizing how he got infected Elba who is 47 years old encouraged people to be careful and to look out for each other.
“This is serious, now is the time to really think about social distancing, washing your hands,” he said.
In the video, Idris Elba appeared with his wife in the background Sabrina Dhowre to whom he addressed saying that although she has not been tested yet, she is doing Ok.

Despite being in the situation himself, Elba did not hesitate to warn his fans about how serious this virus is. He went on to assure them telling them not to panic and also to remain vigilant.

“Transparency is the best thing right now. If you are feeling ill, or like you should be tested, or if you have been exposed, go ahead and do something about It,” he said.
Idris Elba makes the 10th celebrity to test positive for the coronavirus. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson confirmed that they had also tested positive whilst they were in Australia.
Hanks mentioned it on his Instagram page that both he and Rita had tested positive. Rudy Gobert an NBA player also tested positive leading to the NBA suspending its season.
Other Celebrities Who Have Tested Positive For Coronavirus
Donavan Mitchell also an NBA player also tested positive. The wife to the prime minister of Canada Sophie Gregoire and Olga Kurylenko an actor also tested positive for the illness.
Lucian Grainger who is the chairman and CEO of Universal Music was hospitalized due to the virus and Christian Wood who is a basketball player also tested positive for the novel virus making him the 3rd basketball player to have the illness.
